One project · map, twin, headset

One project in two forms. It started as a map of the place I live, and the map is what made the drivable version possible.

NK City — the twin

NK City

Working in real aerial data is what led here: the same city rebuilt in Unreal Engine as a place you can drive. Real streets, real houses, the stop signs where they actually are. It began as a teaching tool — put someone in a place they already know and the only unfamiliar thing in the room is the headset — and it now runs on Apple Vision Pro. It improves every pass, and the aim is a model that updates itself instead of one rebuilt by hand.

The same model is what a utility crew, a campus, or a planning office wants — water, gas and electric lines, routes, and buildings you can walk through before anyone digs.

How it got built

  • Problem
    A map you look at is not a place you can stand in

    Aerial photos and street views flatten a town. Teaching spatial technology needs a place people already know, and planning anything physical needs a version you can move through.

  • Experiment
    Aerial 3D, scanning, and a game engine

    The map came first, built on real aerial 3D of the valley. Then 3D capture of individual buildings, then rebuilding the street network in Unreal Engine to find out what it actually takes to make a real town drivable.

  • System
    One city, two front doors

    The same place feeds a web map anyone can open and a drivable twin that runs in a headset. Streets, buildings and signage stay tied to where they really are, so both improve together instead of drifting apart.

  • Proof
    New Kensington, running

    The map is live and taking pins from residents. The twin runs on Apple Vision Pro. People who live here recognize their own streets, which is the only test a digital twin has to pass.

  • Scale
    The same model, other jobs

    What holds for one town holds for utility and infrastructure work, campus mapping, municipal review and public-facing AR — here, or anywhere with the same problem.

AI-assisted development

I use AI agents throughout the build: research, code generation, testing, documentation, and the repetitive production work that would otherwise eat the schedule. Architecture, requirements, validation and the final call stay mine. Generated work that fails validation gets revised or thrown out.

A 3D sneaker on the site, rotated large on a dark background beside its condition, size and box details, with a button to view it in your space. The same site on a phone, a single column of sneaker listings with large photographs.

A storefront for a sneaker shop on Fifth Avenue, built around how the shop actually runs. The daily bid closes at seven because the doors close at seven. Every pair moves through intake, legit check, photograph and listing, and the site shows that pipeline instead of describing it.

The homepage pair is a 3D model you can spin with your thumb and drop into your room in AR — the closest thing on a screen to picking a shoe up off the wall.

Teaching spatial technology

Digital Foundry at New Kensington

I design and teach AR, VR and mixed reality curriculum for people who have never worn a headset — hands-on workshops, project-based sessions, and the feedback that turns a first attempt into something finished.

The path

I built the résumé backwards. The jobs came first and the degree came last, once I knew what I was actually chasing. Every one of them handed me the next.

  • 2011 – 2014
    First floor job — Best Buy

    Started at sixteen, selling to people who had already decided something was too complicated for them. The whole job was making it not feel that way.

  • 2014 – 2017
    Sales lead and key holder — Sprint: a dealer, a RadioShack store I helped open, then corporate

    Closing, cash counts, deposits, manager coverage. Three versions of the same company taught me how differently a business runs depending on who owns the door.

  • 2017 – 2019
    Retail sales manager — AT&T

    Ran a commission floor and coached a team. Nobody buys an explanation they can't repeat to someone else, which is the same standard I hold curriculum to now.

  • 2019 – 2021
    Banker — Citizens Bank

    Two years off the sales floor and inside a process, where the rules are the product and nothing ships without a second check.

  • 2021 – 2023
    Customer success — Comcast Xfinity

    The other side of the sale. Fixing what went wrong is where you learn what a bad experience actually costs a business.

  • 2023 – 2025
    Technical Specialist / Apple Vision Pro Expert — Apple

    Led Vision Pro demos. Ninety seconds to make spatial computing land for a stranger, over and over, with their face right there telling you whether it worked. This is where the rest of it started.

  • 2016 – now
    Film and production — props, locations, editing, drone

    Commercial, concert and real estate work. Camera discipline carries straight into building a world people look around in.

  • 2023 – now
    AR/VR instructor — Digital Foundry at New Kensington

    The demo became a curriculum, and the audience became students instead of customers.

  • 2016 – now
    Likedeej Tech Consulting — design, build, and technical work for small businesses

    Freelance since 2016, under the Likedeej name since 2023. Websites, brand and marketing work, including marketing for a chiropractic practice. Client work pays for the tools the city projects run on.

    Chosen after the career rather than before it. Cognition and research methods are why I can say why something works instead of only that it does.
